Hi, my name is Carsten (Christos), and I am from the United States, where I got two Bachelor's degrees, one in Economics (Georgia State University) and the other in French literature (University of Georgia). I obtained a Master's degree in American/English studies in 2015 (University of Lille, France) and lived in Thessaloniki and Athens for one and an half years.
After working in France again I have finally returned to Greece, to the island of Crete, where I currently reside. I am a polyglot and can speak 5 languages other than my native English. I speak Greek at an intermediate level, which greatly increases my ability to teach English in Greece.
I have experience teaching at three universities in France. My method involved both giving essay topics for the students to write about, and correcting the texts, as well as having conversation workshops to help the students build confidence in their spoken English.
I am also a writer and have corrected thousands of essays and helped hundreds of students learn English. I am very good at helping students improve their writing and speaking skills. I can give lessons online, at my writer's office in the center of Heraklion, at the student's home, or in a library or cafe. I have a driver's license and car and am able to move around the Heraklion-Malia area as well.
